You can’t drive cars faster than 60 kmph and bikes 50 kmph within the city from now on. The Bangalore Traffic Police have released speed-ceiling chart for vehicles, effective from Thursday night.
Additional commissioner for traffic MA Saleem said the 60kmph limit is a globally accepted one. There’s an exception, though: only cars are allowed to go at 80 kmph on Bangalore International Airport Road, and other types of vehicles will have to stick to the prescribed speed limit.
The speed limits
Cars of all types : 60 kmph
Buses, Trucks : 50 kmph
2 Wheelers : 50 kmph
Mopeds, 3 Wheelers : 40 kmph
Tractor, Trailers : 20 kmph
